Calcium hydroxide, traditionally known as slaked lime or hydrated lime, is a strong, odorless inorganic base that appears as a white powder or colorless crystal. It is highly versatile, with major applications in water treatment, construction, agriculture, and food processing.

Industrial Grade:
1. Treatment of wastewater, waste gas, and solid waste.
Industrial wastewater acid-base neutralization: Widely used in wastewater treatment in industries such as electroplating, chemicals, circuit boards, and pickling. It not only effectively adjusts the pH value of wastewater but also utilizes calcium ions to react with acid radicals (such as sulfate and fluoride ions) in the wastewater to form precipitates, or to convert heavy metal ions into insoluble hydroxide precipitates for removal.
Flue gas desulfurization: In the treatment of industrial tail gas from thermal power plants and waste incineration plants, lime slurry or quicklime powder is sprayed into the absorption tower to react with sulfur dioxide in the flue gas to form calcium sulfate (gypsum), thereby preventing acid rain formation.
Coagulant aid and sludge conditioning: In urban wastewater treatment, it is often used as a coagulant aid to break down the colloidal structure of sludge and improve sludge dewatering efficiency.
2. Construction and Building Materials Industry: Synthetic Calcium Carbonate (Limestone)
Masonry and Plastering Mortar: Adding slaked lime to cement mortar (i.e., three-in-one soil, lime mortar) significantly improves the mortar's water retention, workability, and adhesion, facilitating construction.
Architectural Coatings and Putty Powder: As a base material or filler for interior and exterior wall coatings and putty powder, the calcium carbonate coating formed after drying is hard, white, and has a certain degree of waterproofing.
Soil Stabilizer: In infrastructure construction such as highways and airport runways, mixing it with clay (lime-stabilized soil) can greatly improve the bearing capacity and water stability of the foundation.
Food Grade:
1. Konjac Food Production: When making konjac tofu and konjac snacks, calcium hydroxide must be added as a coagulant to cause cross-linking of konjac polysaccharides under alkaline conditions, forming a unique Q-elastic gel structure.
2. Sugar factory clarifying agent: In the sugar industry, it is used to neutralize the acid in sugarcane juice or beet juice and precipitate the non-sugar components, thus playing a role in decolorization and clarification.
