Hydroxypropyl starch 9049-76-7

Hydroxypropyl starch ether is a white (or colorless) powder with good flow properties and excellent water solubility; its aqueous solution is clear and colorless, and it exhibits good stability. It is stable in the presence of acids and alkalis, has a gelatinization temperature lower than that of native starch, and exhibits more stable viscosity changes under hot and cold conditions compared to native starch. Mixing it with substances such as table salt and sucrose has no effect on its viscosity. After etherification, both its freeze-thaw stability and clarity are improved.
