Tris(trimethylsilyl)phosphate/TMSP CAS 10497-05-9

Tris(trimethylsilyl)phosphate is an organophosphorus compound with the chemical formula (CH₃)₃SiO)₃PO. It appears as a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a faint, characteristic odor. Insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran, toluene, dichloromethane, and hexane. Commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis for the phosphorylation of nucleosides, alcohols, and other substrates. Also functions as a flame retardant additive in lithium-ion battery electrolytes, as a precursor for the preparation of phosphate-based materials, and as a silylating agent in various chemical transformations. Moisture-sensitive; should be stored in tightly sealed containers away from water and strong oxidizing agents.
