1.Performance and use
Potassium pyrophosphate is mainly used in cyanide-free electroplating, replacing sodium cyanide as the complexing agent for electroplating. It is also used as pretreatment agent for electroplating and pyrophosphate plating solution. It is also used as a component of detergents for clothing, as a component of metal surface cleaners and bottle cleaners, and as an additive in various cleaning agents. Used as a clay dispersant in the ceramics industry and as a dispersant and buffer for pigments and dyes. Used in the bleaching and dyeing industry to remove small amounts of trivalent iron ions from water and to improve the quality of bleaching and dyeing.
