Lithium tetraborate, also known as lithium pyroborate, has a molecular formula Li2B4O7 and a molecular weight of 169.12. High purity and high density lithium tetraborate is a new kind of temperature compensated surface wave substrate chip and piezoelectric single crystal substrate material, which has a wide and important application in microelectronics, digital technology, optoelectronic technology, new computer, video communication, military science and technology, aerospace, satellite communication, national defense technology and many other fields. For example, a lithium tetraborate piezoelectric crystal can be prepared, in particular, the preparation method relates to a large-size lithium tetraborate piezoelectric crystal. The synthesized lithium borate polycrystalline material is pressed into a dense cylindrical material block, and the material block is loaded into a Pt crucible with seed crystals in advance and put into the furnace. The furnace temperature is controlled at 950~100Chemicalbook0℃, and the crucible drop rate is 0.1~0.6mm/h. It can grow high-quality large single crystals with a thickness of 30~80mm, a width greater than 120mm, and a length of more than 150mm, and then through lateral processing, that is, along the side of the large size as the axial direction of the crystal rod, and the small side as the direction of the thickness of the crystal rod, large size lithium borate piezoelectric crystal profiles can be obtained. Compared with the traditional declining method, the above method overcomes the technical bottlenecks such as difficult inoculation, easy leakage crucible and easy cracking of the crystal when growing large size lithium tetraborate crystal by the traditional declining method. The lateral growth and flat type crucible design can improve the crystal growth rate and reduce the difficulty of crystal growth, which is conducive to the realization of the industrial growth of large size lithium tetraborate crystal.
