Product Name: Glycine
English alias: BLOTTING BUFFER; USP24 GLYCINE USP24; GLYCINE TECHNICAL; GLYCINE USP; Glycine (Feed Grade); Glycine (Food Grade); Glycine (Pharm Grade); Glycine (Tech Grade)
CAS number: 56-40-6
Molecular formula: C ₂ H ₅ NO ₂
Appearance: White to off white crystalline powder or needle shaped crystals at room temperature
Conventional packaging: 25kg/bag; 50kg/barrel;
Glycine is the simplest amino acid among the 20 members of the amino acid series, also known as aminoacetic acid. It is a non essential amino acid for the human body and has both acidic and basic functional groups in its molecules. It is a strong electrolyte in aqueous solutions and has high solubility in strong polar solvents. It is essentially insoluble in non-polar solvents and has high boiling and melting points. By adjusting the acidity and alkalinity of aqueous solutions, glycine can take on different molecular forms. The side bond of glycine is a hydrogen atom.

Glycine is a non-toxic substance with an acute oral toxicity (LD50) greater than 10000mg/kg (in rats). It is non irritating when in contact with the skin and inhalation of dust may cause mild respiratory dryness (such as dry throat) in sensitive populations. Food grade and pharmaceutical grade products can be directly used in food contact and human medicinal scenarios, while cosmetic grade products have excellent skin compatibility; It is recommended to wear N95 dust masks (to avoid inhaling dust) and nitrile protective gloves (to prevent powder adhesion) during operation, and no special protection is required; If accidentally entering the eyes, rinse with plenty of water, there is no risk of irritation; The product should be avoided from being ingested by children, and food grade products should be stored separately from non food grade products.
It should be stored in a cool, dry, and well ventilated warehouse, avoiding direct sunlight. The warehouse temperature should be controlled at 5-30 ℃, away from heat sources such as heating pipes, boilers, and heating equipment. The warehouse should be equipped with ordinary lighting and ventilation equipment (no explosion-proof type is required), and open flame operations are strictly prohibited (although not flammable, dust accumulation and contact with open flames should be avoided).
During transportation, it is necessary to load and unload gently. When using forklifts or pallets for handling, avoid collisions and squeezing of packaging (especially cardboard drums and glass bottles) to prevent dust leakage caused by packaging damage; Wear anti slip gloves and dust masks during manual handling. It is strictly prohibited to throw or roll the packaging to avoid product adhesion and dust inhalation; When handling pharmaceutical and food grade products, avoid contact with oil stains to prevent contamination.
