Ganurea is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound formed by the condensation reaction of glyoxal and urea under acidic conditions. Its molecular structure contains two urea groups (- NH-CO-NH -) and a bis imidazole ring skeleton. It belongs to the bicyclic tetranitrogen heterocyclic compound class and has excellent chemical stability and reactivity. Its ring structure gives the molecule rigidity, while the urea group provides hydrogen bonding sites, which can form inclusion complexes or undergo derivatization reactions with various compounds.
