The leaves and buds of Brazilian palm are extracted and refined, with a hard and brittle texture that is insoluble in water. It is a hard, high melting point, glossy wax. Its main components are palmitic acid beeswax ester, fatty acid esters, wax acids, and hydrocarbon components, consisting of most of the twenty-six acid twenty-six (alcohol) esters and a small amount of diesters and hydroxy fatty acids.
