UV-2908 CAS 67845-93-6

UV Absorber UV-2908 is a benzotriazole-based ultraviolet light stabilizer. It appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder with a faint characteristic odor. Practically insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as acetone, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and toluene. Commonly used in plastic and polymer industries to protect materials (such as polyvinyl chloride, polyolefins, polystyrenics, polycarbonate, and acrylic resins) from UV-induced degradation, yellowing, and loss of mechanical properties. Also functions as a light stabilizer in coatings, paints, adhesives, sealants, and printing inks to improve outdoor weatherability and extend service life. Stable under normal storage conditions and should be kept in tightly sealed containers away from light, moisture, and strong oxidizing agents.
