Triacetonamine CAS 826-36-8

Triacetonamine is an organic compound with the chemical formula C₉H₁₇NO (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidone). It appears as a white to off-white crystalline solid with a characteristic amine-like odor. Soluble in water, as well as in organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, and toluene. Commonly used as an intermediate in the synthesis of hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) for polymers, as well as in the production of photographic chemicals, dyes, and corrosion inhibitors. Also functions as a catalyst or curing agent in certain resin and coating formulations. Stable under normal storage conditions and should be kept in tightly sealed containers away from strong oxidizing agents and moisture.
