What is Sodium metaphosphate?

Sodium metaphosphate is a white powdered chemical used as a food additive, in cosmetics for its ability to stabilize and deodorize, and in industrial applications for its role as a dispersant and deflocculant. It functions as an emulsifier and texture enhancer in some foods and helps to prevent discoloration.
