Sodium Ethyl 2-Sulfolaurate is an anionic surfactant derived from lauric acid, with the chemical structure of a sulfonated fatty acid ester. It typically appears as a white to pale yellow paste or solid with a mild, characteristic odor. Soluble in water and exhibits excellent surface-active properties, including high foaming capacity, good detergency, and mildness to skin. Commonly used in personal care products such as shampoos, body washes, and facial cleansers as a primary or secondary surfactant. Also finds application in household cleaning formulations and industrial wetting agents. Stable under normal conditions and compatible with other anionic, nonionic, and amphoteric surfactants.
