What is Sodium edetate ?
Sodium edetate is a highly water-soluble chelating agent and the tetrasodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). It exhibits superior sequestering power against a wide range of di- and trivalent metal ions (such as Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Fe³⁺). This makes it exceptionally effective in preventing scale formation, stabilizing formulations against metal-ion catalyzed degradation, and improving process efficiency across water treatment, cosmetics, textiles, and cleaning industries.
