What is Succinic Acid?

Sebacic Acid is a naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid with a 10-carbon chain. It is typically derived from castor oil through a caustic fusion process, making it a renewable resource-based chemical. Primary Use:

1.As a monomer for the production of polyamides (Nylon 610, Nylon 1010), which are known for their toughness, abrasion resistance, and low moisture absorption.

2. Sebacic Acid used in the synthesis of ester-based plasticizers, such as dioctyl sebacate (DOS), which offer excellent low-temperature flexibility and are used in PVC, synthetic rubbers, and other polymers.

3. Sebacic Acid employed as an intermediate in the production of lubricants, greases, and hydraulic fluids.

4. Used in the manufacture of alkyd resins for coatings with good flexibility and durability.
