Perylene CAS 198-55-0

Perylene, also known as naphthalene embedded benzene, is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon organic compound with a molecular formula of C20H12. It appears as a yellow to brown crystalline powder at room temperature. This compound is insoluble in water and easily soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform and carbon disulfide. It is mainly used as an intermediate in organic synthesis and as a material for photovoltaic cells. The perylene pigments derived from it have excellent light resistance, heat resistance, and solvent resistance, and are widely used in fields such as automotive coatings, plastic coloring, and synthetic fiber dyeing.
