It is a non-toxic plasticizer, used in the processing of polyvinyl chloride, which can give good flexibility to the products, and used in nitrate fiber coatings, which has excellent solubility, dispersion, adhesion and water resistance. The paint film has good flexibility, flex resistance and stability. However, the volatility and water extractability are large, thus the durability is poor. It is a commonly used plasticizer for plastics, synthetic rubber, artificial leather, etc. It can also be used as plasticizer for polyvinyl acetate, alkyd resin, ethyl cellulose, nitrocellulose, neoprene rubber, butyl acetate ester of fibers, ethyl cellulose polyvinyl acetate, and ethylene vinyl ester. It can also be used in the manufacture of paints, station agents, artificial leather, printing ink, safety glass, cellophane, dyes, insecticidal perfume solvents and fixing agents, fabric lubricants and rubber softeners.
