Indene 95-13-6

Indene, also known as benzocyclopentene, is a colorless, transparent, oily liquid at room temperature. Indene and its derivatives are commonly found in the skeletal structures of various natural products and are widely used as synthetic intermediates in fields such as materials science and organic asymmetric synthesis. It is primarily found in the C9 fraction of ethylene cracking byproducts and in coal tar. Due to the excellent optoelectronic and thermal properties of indene polymers, foreign researchers have conducted extensive studies on them. With the development of the domestic ethylene industry, research on the polymerization of indene has attracted the attention of domestic scholars, but most studies have focused on the synthesis of petrochemicals using indene from the C9 fraction of ethylene cracking byproducts.
