Polypropylene glycol is a polymer with the molecular formula H(C3H6O)nOH, a colourless to pale yellow viscous liquid. Non-volatile. Non-corrosive. The molecular weight of general commodities is 400~2050. lower molecular weight polymers are soluble in water. Higher molecular weight polymers are only slightly soluble in water, soluble in oils, many hydrocarbons and aliphatic alcohols, ketones, esters, etc. Chemicalbook. hydroxyl groups at both ends of the molecule can be esterified to produce mono- or diesters. Its monoester is a non-ionic surfactant, can also be generated with the role of alcohol ether. It is the solvent of vegetable oil, resin and paraffin, and also used in the preparation of alkyd resin, emulsifier, demulsifier, lubricant and plasticiser. It is obtained by the condensation of propylene oxide and propylene glycol under high pressure or in the presence of acid catalyst.

1.Performance and use

Polypropylene glycol is a high molecular weight substance widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, plastic and other fields. It has the characteristics of high viscosity, high consistency and strong moisturizing performance, and is widely used to manufacture various liquid products, such as shampoo, conditioner, face cream, lotion, etc. In addition, polypropylene glycol can also be used to adjust viscosity, increase solubility, and reduce membrane pressure sensitivity.

3. Packaging and storage

According to regulations, polypropylene glycol should be stored indoors in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and high temperature, humid environment. Meanwhile, the packaging container of polypropylene glycol should be sealed and stored to prevent inversion. The storage period should generally not exceed 6 months, and expired polypropylene glycol cannot be used again.

4. Safety protection

When using polypropylene glycol, protective equipment such as masks and gloves should be worn to prevent harm to the human body during inhalation, splashing, and other operations. Direct contact with skin, eyes, etc. should be avoided. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If discomfort occurs, seek medical attention immediately.
