A pale yellow, transparent liquid. It is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, and benzene, and slightly soluble in water. It is highly miscible with bisphenol A epoxy resins. It is used in the production of pesticides, dyes, fragrances, pharmaceuticals, and rubber additives (CTP), as well as in the production of high-efficiency ion exchange resins, surfactants, and heavy metal extractants.
