DI-N-OCTYL PHTHALATE 117-84-0 DOP

Di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate is a colorless or pale yellow transparent liquid with a characteristic odor. It has a boiling point of 386°C and a relative density of 0.980–0.983 (20/4°C). It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and diethyl ether. It is produced by the esterification reaction of phthalic anhydride and 2-ethylhexanol. It is one of the most widely used plasticizers in plastics processing. With good overall performance, high efficiency, low volatility, UV resistance, and cold resistance, it improves both the flexibility and electrical properties of the finished product, making it a relatively ideal primary plasticizer.
