Copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate is a bright blue crystalline solid, historically known as blue vitriol. It is widely used in agriculture as a fungicide, in electroplating, as an algaecide in water treatment, and as a standard lab reagent.

Agricultural Grade
1. Preparation of Bordeaux Mixture (Inorganic Pesticide): Mixing copper sulfate pentahydrate with quicklime (lime milk) in water in a specific ratio creates the renowned Bordeaux mixture. This is an excellent protective fungicide, widely sprayed on crops such as grapes, apples, citrus, and tobacco. It effectively controls grape downy mildew, apple anthracnose, and potato late blight, and is unlikely to induce resistance.
2. Algae Control in Aquaculture and Landscape Water Bodies: In fishponds, landscape lakes, or swimming pools, when excessive blooms of blue-green algae (algal blooms) cause oxygen depletion in fish, applying an appropriate amount of very low concentration copper sulfate solution can rapidly destroy the algae's chloroplasts, effectively killing them. It also helps control parasitic diseases in fish.
3. Prevention and Treatment of Copper Deficiency in Fruit Trees: As a micronutrient fertilizer, it corrects symptoms caused by copper deficiency in plants, such as chlorosis, leaf tip burn, and poor fruit development.

1. Micronutrient Supplementation in Complete Livestock Feed: Copper is an essential micronutrient for hemoglobin synthesis, bone development, hair pigment deposition, and various oxidative enzymes in animals.
2. Growth Promotion and Diarrhea Prevention in Piglets: Adding an appropriate amount of high copper to weaned piglet feed can significantly stimulate the secretion of gastric motivating enzymes, improve feed digestibility, and act as an antibiotic-like intestinal bactericide to prevent diarrhea. After adding high copper, piglets often exhibit rosy skin, darker feces, and significantly faster growth.

1. PCB Circuit Boards and Acidic Bright Copper Plating: In the surface treatment of modern electronics, hardware, and automotive parts, copper sulfate pentahydrate is the main salt in acidic copper plating baths. It provides pure copper ions, uniformly depositing a highly conductive, bright, and smooth metallic copper plating layer on the cathode surface.
2. Mineral Processing Industry: In non-ferrous metal beneficiation, it is a highly efficient flotation activator for sphalerite, altering the hydrophilicity of mineral surfaces to achieve precise separation of metals such as copper, zinc, and lead.
3. Dye and Pigment Industry: Used in the manufacture of copper-containing monoazo dyes, non-toxic antifouling paints for ship bottoms, and coloring bases for high-grade architectural coatings.
Food Grade
