1. Performance and use
The chemical formula of cobalt nitrate is Co (NO3) 2, with a molecular weight of 182.943. It is a red crystalline powder that begins to decompose at a melting point between 100 and 105 ℃, with a density of 2.49g/cm ³. Cobalt nitrate also has a hexahydrate form, with the chemical formula Co (NO3) 2 · 6H2O, a melting point of about 55 ℃, a density of 1.88g/cm ³, and is easily soluble in water, ethanol, and acetone, with a slight solubility in ammonia water
1. Used as a raw material for catalysts and an antidote for cyanide poisoning.
