Diisooctyl Sebacate (DIOS) is a saturated diester plasticizer derived from sebacic acid and isooctyl alcohol (typically 6-methylheptan-1-ol). 1. Bis(2-ethylhexyl) sebacate used as a primary plasticizer in PVC compounds for applications requiring outstanding low-temperature flexibility, such as automotive interior parts, outdoor cables, and cold-weather films.
2. Employed in synthetic rubbers and elastomers to improve low-temperature performance and flexibility.
3. Applied in polyurethane coatings and adhesives as a plasticizer to enhance elasticity and low-temperature properties.
4. Used in specialty gaskets, seals, and hoses that are exposed to wide temperature ranges.
