 Applications 

1. Emulsion Stabiliser And Co Emulsifier: It stabilises oil in water emulsions and works as a co emulsifier, lowering the total surfactant load needed for a stable system and keeping creams from separating, so formulators use it at low percentages to hold the emulsion together.

2. Consistency Factor That Thickens Without Gelling: As a non gelling thickener it gives creams and lotions their body and rich texture, and because it also works in water free systems it carries viscosity into lipsticks and other anhydrous sticks.

3. Moisture Trapping Emollient: Unlike the short chain alcohols that dry the skin, this fatty alcohol traps water and treats dryness, so it softens and smooths while adding hydrating properties to creams, lotions and cleansers.

4. For Hair Care And Wash Off Systems: It appears in shampoos, conditioners and body washes where it conditions the hair, boosts foam and adds opacity to the finished product.
