Calcium chloride is used in brine used in refrigeration equipment, road ice melt and desiccant. Because it is susceptible to water absorption and deliquescence in air, anhydrous calcium chloride should be stored in sealed containers. Calcium chloride, its hydrates and solutions have important applications in many areas such as food manufacturing, building materials, medicine and biology. Anhydrous calcium chloride is commonly used in industrial production and laboratory dehydration agent, desiccant (but can not dry ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and alcohol), mainly used for drying gases, petroleum, organic solvents, etc., inorganic industry to do the production of calcium metal, a variety of calcium salts as raw materials, calcium chloride is also used as a textile sizing agent, water purification agent, antifreeze, food preservatives, road surface cleaner. CaCl2-6H2O mixed with ice according to 1.44:1, used as a refrigerant in the laboratory, is also an important refrigerant in the refrigeration industry, can obtain -54.9 ℃ low temperature.
