Antioxidant 1010 6683-19-8

Antioxidant 1010 is a sterically hindered phenolic primary antioxidant, chemically known as pentaerythritol tetrakis(3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionate). It appears as a white to off-white, free-flowing crystalline powder, odorless. Insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as acetone, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and toluene. Commonly used as a stabilizer in the plastics and polymer industries to protect materials such as polyolefins (polyethylene, polypropylene), styrenics, polyesters, polyamides, polyurethanes, and elastomers from thermo-oxidative degradation during high-temperature processing. Also functions as a processing stabilizer and long-term thermal aging protector in fibers, films, adhesives, and synthetic resins. Exhibits low volatility, good compatibility, and high resistance to extraction. Stable under normal storage conditions and should be kept in tightly sealed containers away from moisture and strong oxidizing agents.
