1. LC-MS Mobile Phase Buffer: Ammonium formate is the most commonly used mobile phase modifier (buffer salt) when using LC-MS for the detection of proteins, peptides, drug metabolites, or pesticide residues. It can precisely control the pH value of the solution and promote sample ionization. More importantly, it is volatile and will completely vaporize and escape in the spray ionization source of the mass spectrometer, without contaminating or clogging the ion source of the mass spectrometer.

 

2. High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Analysis: As a buffer solution for the separation of complex organic compounds in reversed-phase chromatography.

 

Industrial Grade / Technical Grade - Textile and Dyeing Industry:

 

In textile dyeing and post-treatment processes, industrial-grade ammonium formate can be used as a pH adjuster and retarding agent in the dye bath, helping the dye to be more evenly fixed on the fiber.
