Ammonium persulfate is used as an analytical reagent, photographic fixative and reducing agent.
Ammonium persulfate is used as food preservative, oxidising agent and initiator of polymer.
Ammonium persulfate is used as raw material for manufacturing persulfate and hydrogen peroxide in chemical industry, as co-polymerisation agent in organic polymerisation and as initiator in vinyl chloride monomer polymerisation. Ammonium persulfate is used as bleaching agent in grease and soap industry. It is also used as corrosive agent in metal plate etching and cutting, and oil extraction in petroleum industry. Food grade is used as wheat modifier, beer yeast mould inhibitor.
