 Applications 

1. Anticaking Agent For Salt And Powdered Foods: Dosed at a few parts per million, it keeps table salt, fine salt, cheese powder, soup mixes and instant drink powders free flowing by blocking crystal bridging and caking during storage in humid conditions, and it carries the food additive number E536.

2. Anticaking For De-Icing And Industrial Salts: In road de-icing salt, snow melt salt and other industrial crystalline salts, the same mechanism prevents lumps and bridging so that spreaders and dosing equipment feed evenly through the winter season, and the additive is handled as a dry powder in normal blending lines.

3. Precursor For Ferricyanide And Iron Blue Pigments:  which colour printing inks, paints, coatings, plastics and artist materials across a wide range of deep blue shades.

4. Steel Tempering And Metallurgical Processing: Used in metallurgy for the tempering and surface treatment of steel, where it is applied in salt bath and related heat treatment operations, and as a process chemical in metal finishing lines that need a stable, water soluble iron complex.

5. Analytical Reagent, Dyeing And Graphic Arts: Supplied as a high purity analytical reagent and laboratory standard, and used in the dyeing of textiles and in process engraving and lithography, where it dissolves readily in water while remaining insoluble in ethanol.
