What is 2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate?
2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate (2-EHA) is a low-viscosity monofunctional acrylate monomer primarily used in the production of emulsion polymers, pressure-sensitive adhesives, paints, and coatings. It features a branched alkyl group, which provides flexibility, low glass transition temperature, and good elongation to the resulting polymers.
2-EHA has excellent weather and water resistance, as well as good adhesion properties, making it ideal for use in exterior applications. It is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid with a faint ester odor. The chemical formula of 2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate is C11H20O2.
