 Applications 

1. Reactive Methacrylate Monomer For Waterborne Acrylics: Copolymerising through its methacrylate double bond and carrying a pendant acetoacetoxy group, it decreases solution viscosity and lowers the glass transition temperature of the acrylic, and it is used in waterborne acrylic resins and low VOC architectural and industrial coating emulsions.

2. Improved Adhesion To Metal Substrates: Formulations built on this monomer deliver improved adhesion to metal substrates together with flexibility and corrosion resistance, making it useful in industrial and protective coatings where the film has to hold on to a steel or aluminium surface.

3. Polymerizable Chelating Agent For Hybrid Sol Gel Systems: its unsaturated bonds allow organic and inorganic polymerisation to run at the same time and keep the sol and gel homogeneous.

4. Comonomer For Adhesives, Sealants And Binders: Supplied as a comonomer for adhesive and coating formulations and as a copolymer for emulsion polymerisation, where the reactive methylene group on the acetoacetyl side chain provides sites for later crosslinking of the dried film.
