A colorless liquid. Melting point: −100°C; boiling point: 112°C; relative density: 0.7889 (20°C); refractive index: 1.4404. Soluble in water, alcohols, ethers, and benzene; has an ammonia-like odor. Obtained by the hydrolysis of diallyl cyanamide. The hydrolysis reaction is carried out in a sulfuric acid medium under mild reflux for 6 hours. Yield: 80–88%.
